Privacy Notice
Last updated: August 2026
Your privacy and confidentiality are important to me. This notice explains the limited personal information I collect, why I collect it, and how it is looked after.
Information I collect
When you contact me, book a session, or complete an intake form, I may collect:
your name, email address, telephone number and other contact details;
information needed to arrange and manage appointments;
for energy healing clients, limited information about your health, wellbeing, medication, or pregnancy where relevant to provide the service safely and appropriately;
information you choose to share with me before, during or following a session;
for Home Alignment clients, information about your home and household that is relevant to our work together.
For children and young people, I may also collect the name and contact details of a parent or guardian and information necessary to record their consent.
I aim to collect only the information that is relevant and necessary for the work we are doing together.
Why I use your information
I use your information to:
communicate with you and manage appointments;
prepare for and provide energy healing or Home Alignment sessions;
maintain appropriate client records;
meet my professional, safeguarding, insurance, and legal responsibilities; and
process bookings and payments.
Health information is treated with particular care and is only collected where it is relevant to the service I am providing.
Confidentiality and security
Information shared with me in connection with our work together is treated as confidential and stored securely.
I will never sell your personal information. Any marketing communications are opt-in only.
Information may only be disclosed where I am legally required to do so, where there is a safeguarding concern, or where disclosure is otherwise necessary to protect someone from serious harm.
Services I use
I use trusted third-party services to help operate root + alma, including Squarespace and Acuity Scheduling for my website, bookings, and client forms, and third-party payment, email and video-call providers where appropriate.
These providers may process limited personal information on my behalf in order to provide their services and operate under their own privacy and data-protection terms.
How long I keep your information
Client records are generally retained securely for seven years following our last session or contact.
Some records may need to be retained for longer where there is a professional, safeguarding, insurance, or legal reason for doing so. I periodically review the information I hold and securely delete records when there is no longer a reason to retain them.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you and, in certain circumstances, to ask for information to be corrected or deleted or to object to or restrict its use.
If you have any questions about your information or would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact me through the contact page on this website.
You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.
Changes to this notice
I may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in my practice, the services I use, or applicable data-protection requirements. The most recent version will always be available on this website.
